Medicare Advantage (Part C)

Q: What happens if my doctor leaves my plan’s network?

A: You may need to choose a new doctor, or if this creates hardship, you may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period to switch plans.

Q: Can I switch from Medicare Advantage back to Original Medicare?

A: Yes. You can switch during the Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15–Dec 7) or during the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (Jan 1–Mar 31). You may need to pass underwriting to get a Medigap plan afterward.

Q: Do Medicare Advantage plans include drug coverage?

A: Most do, but not all. Always check if prescription coverage is included before enrolling.

Q: Are Medicare Advantage plans accepted everywhere?

A: No. Most plans use networks (HMO, PPO, etc.). You’ll pay less if you stay in-network, and some plans only cover emergency care outside your service area.

Q: What extra benefits do Medicare Advantage plans include?

A: Many Advantage plans offer dental, vision, hearing, gym memberships, transportation, over-the-counter allowances, and sometimes even food or flex cards—benefits not included in Original Medicare.
